Unfortunately, this past weekend we asked for Oksana to be moved to another host family. So, yesterday afternoon she left us.
We will miss her frequent requests for photo shoots, rides around the Fox Valley, and her competitive game playing. We will not miss her issues getting along with some members of the family.
Oksana will still be attending school with Nasreen, and we anticipate seeing her at other exchange student events, so don't despair.... she may show up here again!
Well, this broadens Oksana's cross-cultural exposure. We lived with 2 different Colombian families during our year of Spanish study; it was beneficial to see the differences & similarities, all within the same culture.
