Last night, I was sitting in my "comfy chair" in the master bedroom. The door was open, light on, both here and in the hallway.
Strange whispering sounds seemed to come from the hallway.
I strained to hear.
"Miriam?"
"Mom?"
Miriam stood just out of sight, in the hallway, trying to get my attention by whispering "Mom? Mom?"
"Miriam... my door is open. Come IN!"
What makes it even more amusing is that Parveen has to walk PAST the master bedroom door to get to her own room, so there is no illusion of privacy in the master bedroom when the door is open. I don't know if I'll ever understand why Miriam feels a compulsion to not actually look in the open doorway and speak up!
Cultural? Or personality? Whatever, it's kinda sweet.
