I just started reading "In the Land of Blue Burqas", written by "Kate McCord" about her time living in Afghanistan. It includes some great descriptions of the differences between conservative Muslims and Christianity.
The book was just released this year, but in reading it I am realizing how many advantages Nasreen, Parveen and Miriam have over Afghani Muslim women. They are allowed to make choices, to pursue their dreams, to hope for love, and especially for Miriam, to follow God passionately.
If you're in the market for a new non-fiction book, I'd recommend it.
Thanks for the recommendation. I thot about getting it for my Nook, but then I can't lend it. Might go with paperback. I appreciate your reminder that not all Islamic countries are "equal." Not many days now before your family expands for another school year. Love & hugs, Aunt Jane
