After a Family Meeting this weekend, during which we had vigorous family debate over whether Ukrainians could actually have a Positive Mental Attitude, we have had a good start to the school week (and first full days of school).
Unfortunately neither girl can open their school locker yet. I have suggested they find the nearest cute boy and ask him for assistance. One girl doubts there are any cute boys around, and the other just giggles.
They have, however, managed to catch the school bus both mornings and make their way home on the bus again. The school lunch room has been located with an interesting selection of cookies, chips and yogurt being consumed. They seem to be finding a few familiar faces, and I am happiest to report that they seem to be taking interest in each other more than they were a week ago.
So, one day at a time, our very diverse, sometimes confused family is making our way through the school year.
