How do you "parent" a child who you have not raised from infancy? How do you encourage and direct and not just freak out at a almost-adult who didn't hear you say, "If you are generous with others, God will be generous with you" and "It's more important to be beautiful on the inside than out the outside" since they were a toddler?
Seems extra-complicated when this teenager will be outside of your influence in under 8 months, and "choosing your battles" combines with cultural differences.
May your "battles" be well-chosen & well "fought," with the spiritual weapons of prayer & discernment God provides. You, Thor & Audrey are doing a worthwhile, wonderful thing. We love you & are praying for you.
